AlarMax Distributors Acquires Northern Sound & Light

PITTSBURGH – AlarMax Distributors has announced the acquisition of Northern Sound & Light (NSL), a Pittsburgh-based national supplier of sound, lighting and production equipment for use in concert venues, schools, houses of worship and live production houses.

Northern Sound & Light, also known as NSL, has been in business more than 30 years, under the ownership and direction of Steve Raslevich. Northern is known for their deep industry roots, service awards, over a decade of live production service experience, and knowledge of the industry. NSL will maintain its own identity and business under the AlarMax financial umbrella, the companies report.

“We welcome NSL to the AlarMax family of companies and are pleased to be working with Steve on our shared vision of expanding Northern Sound & Light’s local presence across the country, says Roger Graf, president of AlarMax. “Additionally, we look forward to expanded opportunities between our customer bases, with these increasingly converging technologies.”

Raslevich, managing director of the “new” NSL, is excited for the continuation of the Northern Sound legacy, states the company, and “entrusts his customers and friends to take part in the increased inventory availability, additional product lines and expanded national distribution reach that the new partnership affords.”

AlarMax currently operates 25 distribution centers across the United States and plans to co-locate NSL locations within some existing AlarMax facilities, as well as coordinate its operations to provide optimal dealer service levels in new markets with stand-alone NSL storefronts.

NSL’s inventory and systems are currently in the process of being integrated into AlarMax and will resume full-scale operations soon. NSL is a factory-authorized reseller for more than 60 industry-leading manufacturers and has the ability to service customers nationwide.

Minnesota AG Calls for Cancellation of Home Security Contracts for Alleged Fraud

STEARNS COUNTY, Minn. — Bring Me the News reports that Minnesota’s Attorney General, Keith Ellison, says he’s gotten consumers in Stearns County out of home security contracts after they were misled by a door-to-door salesman. According to the report, Ellison’s office announced that home security companies Skyline Security Management and Safe Home Security have agreed to their cancel contracts with customers in and around Stearns County who purchased their systems from door-to-door salesman Gary Harvey. “Door-to-door salesmen and their employers are in the business of trust-building,” Ellison said in a statement. “They know they need to have your trust to sell you their products, particularly expensive products like security systems that are supposed to keep your home safe. When that trust is betrayed, it’s emotionally and financially painful.
