Aiphone Debuts Remote Programming Service for IX Series

Intercom and security communications manufacturer Aiphone has introduced Remote Programming Service for its IX Series systems, enabling installers to quickly build, edit, and save programming files within the QuikSpec online design tool. A built-in programming wizard offers guidance and assistance with creating and modifying system, station, and network settings—producing a complete, downloadable programming file.

The Aiphone Remote Programming Service helps installers save both time and resources by streamlining the programming process through the availability of a self-serve, step-by-step programming wizard, according to the company. The service enables installers to create and download accurate program files for IX Series intercom systems.

Using the service, installers can remotely set up and download multiple system preferences prior to arriving on a job site for installation. Available settings include enabling door release, adjusting station visibility with other stations, adding stations to a call list, selecting volume controls, and more. The Remote Programming Service allows installers to focus on installing devices versus the often-time-consuming task of programming the system.

“The addition of Remote Programming Service provides installers with an important tool that will help them to become more efficient thereby saving them both time and resources,” said Brad Kamcheff, marketing manager, for Aiphone. “We recognize that installers require enhanced resources and our goal is to provide our partners with tools that will positively impact their bottom line.”

An added benefit of Aiphone’s Remote Programming Service is if the programming files ever need to be altered or updated in the future, they are fully accessible, editable, and downloadable 24/7/365 on QuikSpec.

The Remote Programming Service is now available as part of Aiphone’s QuikSpec tool, an online resource for installers. QuikSpec gives installers access to a variety of materials, including system wiring diagrams, complete equipment lists, and product documentation. Minnesota AG Calls for Cancellation of Home Security Contracts for Alleged Fraud

STEARNS COUNTY, Minn. — Bring Me the News reports that Minnesota’s Attorney General, Keith Ellison, says he’s gotten consumers in Stearns County out of home security contracts after they were misled by a door-to-door salesman. According to the report, Ellison’s office announced that home security companies Skyline Security Management and Safe Home Security have agreed to their cancel contracts with customers in and around Stearns County who purchased their systems from door-to-door salesman Gary Harvey. “Door-to-door salesmen and their employers are in the business of trust-building,” Ellison said in a statement. “They know they need to have your trust to sell you their products, particularly expensive products like security systems that are supposed to keep your home safe. When that trust is betrayed, it’s emotionally and financially painful.
