ASR Alert Systems, HAVEN, ZeroEyes Collaborate for Building Safety

JUPITER, Fla. —The safety equipment supplier ASR Alert Systems, along with the security company HAVEN, and ZeroEyes, a provider of AI-based gun detection, are partnering to provide safer community buildings.

The new Joint Active Shooter Protection and Response Program is currently implemented in a school located in Houston, Texas, and the trio of companies point out their collective solution is designed to positively impact the outcome of tragic events such as an active shooter.

“Veterans have a unique ability to solve some of our nation’s toughest problems. Lessons learned from combat coupled with technology can help in preventing active shooter events in the future,” states Alex Bertelli, founder and CEO, HAVEN.

According to ASR Alert Systems, HAVEN and ZeroEyes, school systems are now searching for ways to combat active shooter situations, and a recently released report from the FBI says there has been more than a 50% increase active shooter incidents from 2020 to 2021.

ASR Alert Systems, HAVEN and ZeroEyes Outline their Active Shooter Technologies

Outlining how their collective products and technologies are helping to protect building environments that include schools, the three companies explain the respective solutions together offer property owners, building managers and the general public high levels of protection.

Here is a more detailed look at the respective technologies the three companies bring to their collaboration:

  • Founded by Navy SEALs and law enforcement professionals, ASR Alert Systems is a critical incident response technology that enables immediate communication directly to emergency first responders and all those within an organization through the push of a button.
  • HAVEN Lockdown is said to be an affordable smart door lock that activates in seconds to help prevent an intrusion into rooms and through access points, giving total security control to staff, administrators and authorities.
  • ZeroEyes’ DeepZero platform is a A.I.-based gun detection video analytics solution, and the company emphasizes that it is the only technology of its kind to hold the U.S. Department of Homeland Security SAFETY Act Designation. ZeroEyes says that its proprietary software uses existing security cameras to identify a potential gun as soon as it becomes visible and it sends alerts to school administrators and safety personnel within three to five seconds, helping to mitigate violence before it happens.

“No one should have to go to school or work worrying about whether or not they’ll be shot,” adds Mike Lahiff, CEO and co-founder of ZeroEyes, Inc. “As veterans who have been in countless active shooter situations, we’re uniquely positioned to combat our growing mass shooting problem with real solutions through technology. We’re proud to work with HAVEN and ASR to collaboratively apply different approaches and technologies with the common goal of stopping senseless shootings.”
