Utimaco Expands Through Acquisition of Celltick

AACHEN, Germany — Utimaco, a global provider of cybersecurity and compliance solutions, announces it has signed a share purchase agreement with Celltick, a provider of public-warning and mass notification systems.

Celltick is also a Cell Broadcast Center (CBC) provider, and according to Utimaco, recent natural disasters, healthcare crisis and military conflicts have put an increased emphasis on public-warning systems (PWS). The company points out the European Electronic Communications Code (EECC) is now making it mandatory for all members of the European Union (EU) to implement public-warning systems by June 2022.

Over in Ukraine, Celltick is currently working free of charge with the State Emergency Service and three mobile network operators to deploy a national cell broadcast-based PWS to help protect civilians caught in the war.

Utimaco Acquisition Provides Company Access to Celltick Technologies

Celltick produces a range of PWS solutions that includes its MAGEN (Mass Alert Geo Emergency Notification) system. Utimaco points out that Celltick’s systems are employed by more than 70 mobile network operators all over the world.

Minnesota AG Calls for Cancellation of Home Security Contracts for Alleged Fraud

STEARNS COUNTY, Minn. — Bring Me the News reports that Minnesota’s Attorney General, Keith Ellison, says he’s gotten consumers in Stearns County out of home security contracts after they were misled by a door-to-door salesman. According to the report, Ellison’s office announced that home security companies Skyline Security Management and Safe Home Security have agreed to their cancel contracts with customers in and around Stearns County who purchased their systems from door-to-door salesman Gary Harvey. “Door-to-door salesmen and their employers are in the business of trust-building,” Ellison said in a statement. “They know they need to have your trust to sell you their products, particularly expensive products like security systems that are supposed to keep your home safe.
