Sciens Building Solutions Acquires Florida-Based LV Solutions

SAN FRANCISCO — Sciens Building Solutions announces it has acquired Longwood, Fla.-based fire and security firm LV Solutions.

This is the latest acquisition since Sciens was established in 2016 to pursue a buy-and-build investment strategy in the fire detection and integrated solutions sector. Sciens acquired Rochester, N.Y.-based fire and security firm West Fire Systems on March 16.

The addition of LVS helps expand the company’s presence in Central Florida and provides LVS, its employees, and its customers with even deeper resources and expertise, according to the company.

“Sciens’ and its affiliated companies’ solid technical expertise and comprehensive building solutions, combined with LVS’s capabilities, will allow us to develop broader and even better offerings for the important Orlando and greater Central Florida market,” says Trevor Blanc, president of LV Solutions, who will remain in his current role with the company. “We are excited to expand together under the Sciens platform and look forward to continuing to provide excellent customer service to our valuable clients.”

LV Solutions was founded in 2005 where it has been supporting Central Florida area clients ever since. The addition of LVS to Sciens is said to allow the company to further expand its existing presence in this region by working together with existing Sciens locations in Orlando and St. Petersburg, Fla.

Minnesota AG Calls for Cancellation of Home Security Contracts for Alleged Fraud

STEARNS COUNTY, Minn. — Bring Me the News reports that Minnesota’s Attorney General, Keith Ellison, says he’s gotten consumers in Stearns County out of home security contracts after they were misled by a door-to-door salesman. According to the report, Ellison’s office announced that home security companies Skyline Security Management and Safe Home Security have agreed to their cancel contracts with customers in and around Stearns County who purchased their systems from door-to-door salesman Gary Harvey. “Door-to-door salesmen and their employers are in the business of trust-building,” Ellison said in a statement. “They know they need to have your trust to sell you their products, particularly expensive products like security systems that are supposed to keep your home safe.
