Milestone Systems Pulls Out of ISC West Citing COVID Precautions
PORTLAND, Ore. — In response to continued concern for potential health risks associated with COVID-19, Milestone Systems announces its withdrawal from ISC West 2021.
Milestone’s United States office, located here, remains closed with employees conducting all business remotely, following the coronavirus pandemic prevention guidelines set forth by the Oregon governor.
“We have been monitoring this situation very closely for over a year now,” states Tim Palmquist, vice president for the Americas at Milestone Systems. “Unfortunately, the continued heightened risk of COVID-19 means that we will return to in-person events only when it is safe to do so. We are prioritizing people over the benefits of our participation in ISC West 2021. We believe that not having a formal presence at the show is the best decision for the benefit of all our stakeholders, at this time.”
Originally scheduled to be held March 23-26, the event’s producer, Reed Exhibitions, announced last November ISC West would be postponed to July 19-21 after extensive internal and external consultation and monitoring of the ongoing pandemic. The announcement also revealed that the 2021 event model will offer a hybrid format — with both face-to-face conference pass and virtual conference pass options available.
On April 23, ISC West revealed its health and safety protocols for the event, which will be staged at the Venetian Resort and Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas.
Milestone Systems says that it remains supportive of the ISC West event and intends to attend in 2022. Milestone is currently considering alternative ways to share the essential information it prepared for ISC West 2021, according to the announcement.
Milestone Systems, a standalone company in the Canon Group, is a leading provider of open platform video management software (VMS). The company enables an open platform community that drives collaboration and innovation in the development and use of network video technology, with more than 500,000 installations worldwide.
